Winter salt is hard on Lisle floors

Lisle gets real Chicago winters, and from the first snow until spring the roads and parking lots are salted. All of that salt comes inside on shoes. It dries into a white film across lobby floors and gets ground into the carpet just past the front doors. Wet slush makes it worse, because it carries the salt farther into the building. An office building by the tollway with a big parking lot and one busy entrance deals with that every workday for months.

Salt is hard on floors in ways people do not notice at first. If your Lisle lobby has stone or terrazzo, the grit scratches the polish and leaves a dull haze. On vinyl tile it breaks down the floor finish until the floor looks gray no matter how often it gets mopped. A mop mostly moves the salt around.
