Winter salt wears down Naperville lobby floors

Naperville has older brick buildings downtown by the DuPage River and newer glass office buildings along the tollway. The floors inside them vary just as much. An older building may have terrazzo or tile that's been refinished many times, while a newer lobby may be polished stone or VCT. Winter's hard on all of them. From November to March, people carry salt and slush in from the parking lot on their shoes.
